What's the difference between the two program options?

Same four sessions and the same one-on-one attention either way. In person, we go on location in Abu Dhabi, I coach and you shoot. Online, we meet by video call for discussion and demonstration, and you shoot an assignment on your own between sessions.

Is the online option pre-recorded?

No. It's live and one-on-one over video call, built around discussion, demonstration, and an assignment, instead of shooting together in real time.

What kind of camera do I need?

Any mirrorless or DSLR camera will do, any brand you already own, Sony, Nikon, Canon, Fuji, Leica, even Hasselblad or Phase One. We'll work with what you have.

Do I get a diploma after?

No. This is a practical, hands-on photography program focused on building real skills for a hobby, and not an academic or certification-based course.

Do you teach lighting and composition in this program?

Not in this one. This program is fully focused on getting comfortable with your camera and the fundamentals of shooting. Lighting and composition deserve their own dedicated time, something I'm working on separately.

Can I switch from online to in person later, or the other way around?

Yes, if you're based in Abu Dhabi. Switching between in-person and online is only possible within your first two sessions, and only if I have an open slot for the format you're switching to. If you're not based in Abu Dhabi, switching to in-person isn't possible, since in-person only works for students who are actually here. The price for your remaining sessions, either two or three depending on when you switch, is prorated based on how many sessions are left. After your second session, switching is no longer available.

Do you offer group classes?

The program is designed as a private 1-on-1 coaching experience. But if you and your friends or organization are interested in private group or corporate training, you can contact me directly at learn@jayalonzo.com.

What if I find this isn't for me, can I get a refund?

I'm confident you'll enjoy the sessions, but if it turns out this isn't for you, refunds are possible depending on how many sessions you've attended. You can find the full details on my refund policy page.

Why take your program when YouTube tutorials are free?

YouTube can be helpful, but it’s often unstructured. You end up jumping between videos without knowing what to focus on or if you’re doing things correctly.
This program gives you a clear, step-by-step path, with direct feedback on your photos so you know exactly what to improve, without the guesswork.
